TASMANIAN musicians and Hobart’s Brisbane Hotel are coming together this weekend to raise money for people who have lost their homes, land and belongings in the recent bushfires.

Revive ’N’ Rebuild II will be e held at the Brisbane Hotel on Saturday and feature musicians spanning a range of f genres, including hip-hop, punk, electro, folk, metal and rock.

More than 30 acts have been confirmed, including Corney, The Dead Maggies, Coward Punch, JAX and the Wayward, Hudson Cartel, DJ Pressed, Greeley and Ben Salter.

“We’re just throwing a gig for friends and people who have been affected by the recent fires down in southern Tassie,” Brisbane Hotel co-owner Christopher “Gibbo’’ Giblett said yesterday.

The gig will support musician Dale “Hairy Man” Fullard, who lost his Huon Valley house in the fires, with ith organisers hoping to get him the materials to build a new stage and outhouses for the events he holds on his property.

The rest of the money will be donated to people who need it most once the damage has been fully assessed.

“Hairy has been playing at the pub for probably about 10 years and has become a good friend,” Gibbo said.

The fifirst Revive ’N’ Rebuild was held after the Dunalley bushfires in 2013. Gibbo said it was great to see the music community pulling together for a good cause.

“The support that’s coming in from the bandsd andd the community and from local businesses has been amazing,” he said. “It’s overwhelming, theth amount of support, and even support that’s been coming from overseas, people who don’t even know us, people who haven’t even been to Tasmania have been sending money through.”

The Brisbane Hotel presents Revive ’N’ Rebuild II at the Brisbane Hotel from 4pm on Saturday. It is an 18+ event. Entry is $20 at the door.
