Zampa ‘tamper’ trail goes cold

ADAM Zampa’s hand warmers have been revealed as the mystery item in his pocket in the curious footage that went viral on social media.

Captain Aaron Finch swiftly dismissed talk of anything untowards after a Twitter post of the footage, which was captioned “Whats in the pocket Zampa??? Are Australia up to old tricks again?” was viewed during the clash against India more than 130,000 times.

Screenshots of the video also spread on social media. A member of the Indian media asked Finch to clarify what was being watched around the world.

“I haven't seen the photos, but I know that (Zampa) has hand warmers in his pocket,” Finch said.

“He has them every single game he plays. I know for a fact that he has hand warmers every game.”

Finch said Zampa started his spell “poorly” against India, which was why he only sent down six overs (0/50).

It was the equal-fewest amount of overs Zampa has bowled in more than two years.
