Bashing charge man granted bail

TWO people charged over a home invasion last month in which an elderly man was allegedly assaulted have now been released on bail.

Wayne Keith Herlihy, 51, of Newnham, was granted bail at the Supreme Court in Launceston yesterday.

He had previously appeared in the Launceston Magistrates’ Court last month alongside his niece Kylie Maree Herlihy, 37, of Newnham, and Harley Sturzaker, 21, of Rocherlea.

All three have been charged with aggravated armed robbery, aggravated burglary and causing grievous bodily harm following the May 25 home invasion.

Mr Sturzaker was also recently granted bail in the magistrates court.
