Mary, kids join fun run
PRINCESS Mary and her children have shown their sporty side in Denmark’s annual Royal Run.
The fun runs which emphasise family participation are held in Denmark’s three largest cities as well as the Faroe Islands and the island of Bornholm.
Last year it was Crown Prince Frederik who put on his running shoes in celebration of his 50th birthday, but this year it was Tasmanian-born Princess Mary’s time to shine.
Sitting out the race because of a herniated disc, the Prince cheered on his wife and kids in the run.
Wearing navy tights, a white T-shirt and a cap, the Princess, 47, joined participants in the five mile event in the city of Aalborg.
She then ran with her children Prince Christian, 13, Princess Isabella, 12, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, both 8, in the one mile event.
More than 80,000 took part in the Royal Run.
