Well done on cable car

WELL DONE, Mount Wellington Cableway Company on lodging a DA for the cableway to the summit of kunanyi/Mt Wellington. It now rests in the hands of the Hobart City Council to act in accordance with its code of conduct and according to planning law and assess the proposal without bias or preconceived conclusions. Let’s hope it is able to carry out its duties without any repeats of the roadblocks that have been tried, unsuccessfully, to block lodgement of the DA. place is disappearing fast. We do not want to be another Venice where locals depart for each tourist season and return when it is quiet. We want to live here in the place we know and love. of the removal of the monorail in 2013, that it had never been truly embraced. As a footnote, Alderman Ron Christie, then the deputy mayor of Hobart, sought donation of the monorail to connect Hobart CBD to the northern suburbs.
