THE Cantiamo women’s choir will perform a feast of favourites from its repertoire over the past eight years at a special concert at Bellerive on Sunday.

Musical director Priscilla Richardson said the program would feature a wide variety of songs, both classical and modern, with a touch of Broadway and music of the 1960s thrown in.

“The gorgeous voice of soloist soprano Stephanie Arnold will be heard when she sings the John Fletcher poem put to music by Peggy Granville Hicks, Come Sleep,” Richardson said.

“Stephanie will also sing Desire in Spring, with words by Francis Ledwidge and music by Ivor Gurney.

“We are also pleased to feature Vanessa Ransley and Emma Bennison singing Vivaldi’s Laudamus Te.

“Chorus member and flautist Belinda Ratnik who will play Cirrus at Sunrise, the first movement of the three-movement flute sonata composed by her husband Peter Ratnick.”

She said accompaniment for the concert would be by David Carr and Marian Bisset.

Richardson said the concert promised a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment, complete with afternoon tea.

The Cantiamo Feast of Favourites concert is at the Alma Activity Centre in Alma St, Bellerive, at 2pm on Sunday.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children under 16, available at the door.
