Avengers star books Tassie trip

HOLLYWOOD heartthrob Chris Hemsworth is heading our way — thanks to the tireless salesmanship of Tasmanian Senator Jonathon Duniam.

The Avengers: Endgame star made a surprise appearance at the launch of a new tourism campaign spruiking Australia’s unique way of life in Sydney yesterday.

In a question and answer session, Hemsworth was asked what Australian destination he’d next like to visit — and nominated Lord Howe Island.

Never one to miss an opportunity to spruik his home state, Senator Duniam, the federal assistant minister for Regional Tourism, said he could do one better. “Mate, I’ve got a better island than Lord Howe,” he said. “Come to Tasmania, we will turn it on for you.”

Hemsworth gladly accepted the offer, basing his impressions from a single, brief previous overnight stay: “I was like, oh my gosh, this place is stunning, I had no idea. I’d love to do a trip down there.”
