Cup protesters to face bans

Mercury (Hobart) - - NEWS -

VIOLENT anti-mining protesters planning to wreak havoc during the Melbourne Cup Carnival will face bans from Flemington racetrack.

Police have identified serial protesting pests outside this week’s International Mining and Resources Conference at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and fear they will disrupt Cup Week, which starts on Saturday.

If arrested, they could be formally banned by the courts from the Flemington Racecourse precinct.
