Spared from dinghy drift
GREECE’S coastguard has rescued a woman floating in a dinghy in the Aegean Sea for nearly two days.
The 47-year-old, who had been holidaying on a boat near the Greek island of Folegandros, got into an inflatable boat about noon on November 1 to fetch supplies. A day later, Greek authorities were alerted she was missing. They found her about 74km southwest of Folegandros, near the island of Crete.
“I was blown away, blown away in my dinghy,” said the New Zealander, an experienced sailor. She said she ate lollies for a meal.
