If that’s best, what’s the worst?
THE Australian College of Emergency Medicine’s most recent Emergency Department surveys show the Royal Hobart Hospital and the Launceston General Hospital recorded the worst results of all hospitals in Australia for patient access block and 24-hour wait times (“Health crisis critical,” Mercury, November 11). Health Minister Sarah Courtney stated that “the staff in the hospital … are doing everything they can to provide Tasmanians with the best possible healthcare.”
If this is “the best possible healthcare,” what would the Minister consider the worst possible healthcare? Elizabeth Osborne North Hobart
