Giv­ing new life to our old socks

A MEL­BOURNE cou­ple who cre­ated cr a thriv­ing busi­ness in sock so sub­scrip­tion known as Man­rags started ques­tion­ing where worn out socks went.

Man­rags co-founder Michael Elias dis­cov­ered 99 per cent of our un­der­wear ends up in the bin, so last month launched l the world’s first sock re­cy­cling r cam­paign and has al­ready saved 120,000 pairs from land­fill. Wear­able socks are do­nated around the world and oth­ers are shred­ded to be turned into new yarn, to pro­duce T-shirts, bean­ies or socks.
