Beating the door down

Mercury (Hobart) - - LETTERS -

AS usual when he’s required to show some leadership, Tasmania’s Premier is nowhere to be seen. Instead of beating the door down at Bupa South Hobart to demand what the hell is going on, he’s off to the UK on some trade mission, a role that could be filled by one of his overpaid bureaucrats. While he’s there he can do well to visit Bupa head office and let them know we don’t give a dot about boasts about 80,000 staff in 190 countries. What we would like is proper care for our own people. In the meantime, when you return, we demand answers on what is going on in the health portfolio. That’s the one in which a true leader would have long ago taken pride in displaying some genuine interest and management skills, instead of leaving it to those who lack the expertise.
