Man to fight cruelty charge
A FORCETT man says he’ll fight serious animal cruelty allegations dating back to Christmas – without a lawyer.
Jethro Arthur Anthony Millar faced the Hobart Magistrates Court yesterday charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals likely to result in death, deformity or serious disablement and one count of failure to comply with instruction. The charges, brought by the RSPCA, date back to December 21.
Mr Millar told Magistrate Chris Webster he intended to plead not guilty to both charges and planned to represent himself without a lawyer.
Mr Webster adjourned the case until January 30.
