AUSTRALIAN music royalty The Presets will perform with electronic artist Golden Features at a special one-off show in Hobart in January.

Sydney-based electronic dance music duo Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes and Golden Features (aka Sydney dance music producer Tom Stell) collaborated to create the recently released four-track EP, Raka.

Tickets to their Hobart show at Mac2 will be on sale on Thursday.

“We always have so much fun playing in Hobart,” said Hamilton, The Presets’ singersongwriter and keyboardist.

“It’s been a few years and I’m really looking forward to coming back down.”

The Presets’ musical career took off after the release of their 2008 album Apocalypso, which featured four hit singles including the classic

My People, and won multiple ARIA awards including Album of the Year.

Their 2012 album Pacifica was also nominated for an ARIA, and their long-awaited 2018 album, HI VIZ, debuted at No.1 on the iTunes album chart within hours of its release and was nominated for two ARIA Awards as well as the prestigious Australian Music Prize.

Hamilton said the seeds for a collaboration with Tom Stell were sewn back in 2014, when Tom remixed The Presets’ song, No Fun.
