Sixteen bodies sent home
THE first 16 bodies of the 39 Vietnamese migrants found dead in the back of a refrigerated truck after being smuggled into Britain last month have been repatriated.
The bodies arrived at the Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi early yesterday.
They were to be taken by ambulances to their homes in Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Binh provinces, while the remaining bodies will be repatriated at a later date.
The families have had to pay for the repatriation of the bodies, costing about $4100, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
