Biosecurit­y panel named

TAS­MA­NIA’S first Biosecurit­y Ad­vi­sory Com­mit­tee has been an­nounced.

Head­ing up the in­de­pen­dent ad­vi­sory body will be chair­woman Felic­ity Richards, who is a ru­ral leader, busi­ness­woman, farmer and an ad­vo­cate for pri­mary in­dus­tries.

The main role of the 10mem­ber com­mit­tee will be to pro­vide ad­vice to the gov­ern­ment on biosecurit­y.

The com­mit­tee will also help guide gov­ern­ment strate­gies and pol­icy for biosecurit­y mat­ters.
