Men await ver­dict on al­leged shoot­ing

TWO men charged over an al­leged shoot­ing and rob­bery in Jan­uary are await­ing a ver­dict af­ter a Supreme Court jury was or­dered to be­gin de­lib­er­a­tions in Launce­s­ton yes­ter­day.

Ja­cob Wil­liams, 28, and Mar­cus

Wil­liams, 33, who are not re­lated, pleaded not guilty to com­mit­ting an un­law­ful act in­tended to cause bod­ily harm and armed rob­bery. It was the Crown case that the two men con­spired to en­act re­venge on

Kurt Jenk­ins, who they wrongly be­lieved was in­volved a rob­bery two days prior. Ja­cob Wil­liams’ lawyer Evan Hughes said there was no ev­i­dence Mr Jenk­ins was robbed or that the ac­cused men in­tended to rob him.
