Men await verdict on alleged shooting
TWO men charged over an alleged shooting and robbery in January are awaiting a verdict after a Supreme Court jury was ordered to begin deliberations in Launceston yesterday.
Jacob Williams, 28, and Marcus
Williams, 33, who are not related, pleaded not guilty to committing an unlawful act intended to cause bodily harm and armed robbery. It was the Crown case that the two men conspired to enact revenge on
Kurt Jenkins, who they wrongly believed was involved a robbery two days prior. Jacob Williams’ lawyer Evan Hughes said there was no evidence Mr Jenkins was robbed or that the accused men intended to rob him.
