Sean is the pups’ right hound man
FIVE furry friends are digging their new jobs and all set to make a “pawsitive” difference in the community after graduating as fully qualified guide and assistance dogs this week.
Celebrating at the Launceston ceremony — beside paw-some pups Harvey, Billie, Kobie, Morgan and Murphy — was Sean Cromwell.
The former cadet guide dog mobility instructor also was surprised to be presented with his international Guide Dog Federation trainer qualification at the ceremony.
He was the first to complete the training and graduate in Tasmania for 10 years.
Guide Dog services co-ordinator Kim Ryan said Mr Cromwell had an “endless passion and commitment” to the program: “Sean has an incredible ability to take cheeky, energetic, enthusiastic pups and create wonderful guide or assistant dogs out of them. The way he works with each dog is a delight to watch.”
Mr Cromwell said becoming a trainer had been his goal “for a very long time”.
