Winery among top 50 hot spots for romantics
LOVE is in the air at Frogmore Creek Cellar Door and Restaurant.
The picturesque Cambridge winery has been named among the top 50 romantic restaurants for 2020 ahead of Valentine’s Day tomorrow.
Frogmore Creek brand manager Shelley Bickerstaff said diners enjoyed highly acclaimed wines and fresh local produce while taking in breathtaking views of the surrounding valley and waterways.
“Despite being so close to the city, when you arrive you get transported and can be in the moment,” Ms Bickerstaff said. “
The dishes are really special, unique and shareable, which is also nice for a date.”
The Lounge by Frogmore Creek on the Hobart waterfront and The Point Revolving Restaurant at Wrest Point also made the top 50 list, created by online restaurant reservations platform OpenTable. The company analysed more than 173,000 restaurant reviews submitted by verified diners from more than 2000 restaurants nationally to identify the most romantic venues. OpenTable senior business development manager Tim Domelow said the list offered a rich selection of options to suit any Valentine’s Day date.
“Last year, we saw a 289 per cent increase in dinner reservations made on Valentine’s Day compared to the three Thursdays prior, reinforcing the theory that the way to your loved one’s heart really is through their stomach,” he said.
“The top 50 romantic restaurants in Australia are all renowned for their intimate atmosphere, delicious food and impeccable service, providing uniquely memorable experiences for the special occasion.”
