Brand wowed by Tassie kindness

- PATRICK GEE

A SIMPLE act of kindness by a Launceston couple has restored country singer Adam Brand’s faith in humanity in a world “going crazy”.

The country music star posted a video on his Facebook page on Saturday to “share a little feel-good story”.

The post has now gone viral with commenters glad to hear the spirit of mateship is alive and well.

In the video Brand says he was sitting at an airport on Saturday waiting for a friend to arrive.

When he did, they hopped in a car and headed for Echuca in Victoria for a monster truck show. “We’re about 45 minutes down the road and we’re going to get a roll or something from the bakery and I’ve been searching for my wallet,” Brand says in the video.

“I’m going crazy here because I’ve got to go to Sydney

tomorrow and all kinds of stuff and no wallet, no ID, no licence, no credit cards, nothing.”

Brand decided to drive back to the airport.

“I was just thinking to myself, ‘well, I wonder if there’s still honest people in the world, or what’s going to happen?’.

“Sitting next to the seat where I was sitting is Peter and Nancy from Launceston. I’m frantically looking around, I’m looking under the seat going; ‘Oh no, I’ve lost my wallet, I’ve lost my wallet, it’s going to be a pain’.

“Then they look at me and go ‘are you Adam?’. And I said ‘yes’. And they go ‘and you’re from Runaway Bay?’. And I said ‘yes’. And they say ‘we’ve got your wallet, we’ve got it safe here’.” Brand said his heart melted.

“I just thought to myself, wow, what an amazing thing to happen. There’s still wonderful honest people.”
