CROSS-TOWN rivals Northern Hawks and Cavaliers will be desperate for a win in tonight’s top-of-the-table State League netball clash.

Hawks are the only undefeated side of the competition and are sitting nine points clear on the ladder.

But with bonus points on offer, Cavaliers have the chance to get to within one if they can win the match and all four quarters along the way.

Cavaliers have a number of players under injury clouds. Shelby Miller, Hayley McDougall and Zoe Claridge all sat out the match against AYC-Friends Arrows last weekend.

Cavaliers coach Dan Roden will be looking to carry the momentum from two hard-fought wins last weekend into tonight’s match.

“It was a tough weekend both physically and mentally, and tested both our resilience and depth,” he said.

In other matches, fourthplaced Cripps Waratah will be looking for a comprehensive victory over St.LukesHealth Karana when they meet tonight. Cripps are in fourth and will be hoping to cement their spot. Cripps keeper Alex Vinen has been in superb form this season and will be looking to lead from the back.

“We always have a good challenge against Karana,” Vinen said.

“I think this week especially for us it will be playing four good quarters and trying to get those bonus points each quarter as well as the win.”

Third-placed Kingston Blues will meet fifth-placed Arrows and both will be looking to return to the winner’s circle after tough losses.
