Two trucks in collision

THE Bass Highway at Sisters Creek was partially blocked following a crash between two trucks at the intersection of Myalla Road.

The crash occurred 10.15am on Friday.

One of the truck drivers sustained serious injuries and the Westpac rescue helicopter was dispatched to the scene.

Inspector Gary Williams said the driver had been trapped in his cab for some time and sustained serious leg injuries, which would require surgery.

Inspector Williams said early investigations showed the trailer of one of the prime movers may have crossed to the wrong side of the road before the trucks collided.

The other driver received less serious injuries to his arm. He was taken to the North West Regional Hospital by road.

Both lanes of the highway were closed until one lane opened about 1pm. The scene was cleared about 3.40pm. Investigations into the crash are continuing. about
