GETTING BACK TO BUSINESS
THE coronavirus pandemic has tested the resilience of northern Tasmanian businesses, but in 2021 confidence is growing and new firms are opening in Launceston.
In the city centre 14 new ventures have opened since January.
Margaret Lung’s gift shop, Gift Theory on St John Street, opened last Tuesday.
The first-time shop owner had been expecting a quiet morning, but was surprised by the number of customers through the door.
Ms Lung said she wanted to create an in-shop experience that customers could enjoy and a store that had “everything you might need”.
“I worked hard for two months setting up the shop and I will just see how things go,” she said.
