PENINSULA LEFT OUT
PEOPLE on the Tasman Peninsula were left feeling sidelined by the two major parties at Thursday’s candidates forum at Koonya. A robust discussion was had about rural services for mental health, environment, recreation and transport. Labor declined the invitation and Liberals cancelled at the 11th hour. Rural communities are already feeling forgotten. Now we are seemingly expected to be content with being excluded from the democratic process of asking questions of candidates. Thank you to independent George Lane, AJP candidate Sharon MacLay and Greens candidates Liz Johnstone for taking the time to attend and answer questions. Rebecca Howarth Koonya
