The Hobart District Nursing Service (The District Nurses) was established during Florence Nightingale’s lifetime in 1896.

TDN thanks and acknowledges our nurses, past and present, for their commitment to our consumers and the high quality of service they consistently provide.

Our nurses, together with our community support workers, administrative support staff and partners in health care, support members of the community to remain living in their own homes.

They help to optimise wellbeing and work towards health and wellness through reablement and therapeutic services, across a broad range of programs.

We’ve learned through COVID-19 that caring doesn’t stop, that restrictions and masks don’t hinder communication, and that we’ve been able to help so many of our consumers to develop their confidence in the use of technology to enhance their connectivity with family, friends and the community.
