MAN DIES IN LOGGING ACCIDENT IN THE SOUTH

A MAN died in a logging workplace incident in Tasmania’s Huon Valley on Friday.

Police, other emergency services and WorkSafe Tasmania remained at the scene in the Geeveston area. It was initially reported to police at 11.05am.

“Sadly, police can advise a man has died as a result of the incident,’’ a Tasmania Police spokeswoman said.

“The man’s next of kin has been advised.”

There were no more specifics released about the incident.

Police and WorkSafe Tasmania will prepare a report for the Coroner.

WorkSafe Tasmania said it would investigate.
