KANGAROOS POUNCE ON HALL

- JAMES BRESNEHAN

TASMANIAN Aaron Hall has signed a one-year extension with North Melbourne to push his career into an 11th season in the AFL.

Originally taken by the Gold Coast Suns in the 2012 AFL PreSeason Draft, Hall, 30, joined the Kangaroos in 2019. Coming off a career-best season, Hall’s switch to the backline saw him play 20 games, averaging 27.9 disposals. He was also ranked No.1 in the AFL for metres gained, averaging 637m per game. “Nobes (coach David Noble) and Blakes [John Blakey], our defensive coach, they just always back you in. I probably haven’t had that from coaching staff in my whole 10 years of playing,” Hall said. Hall did not consider switching clubs. “I love it here. The group we’ve had this year has been my favourite groups to play with in all of my 10 seasons,” Hall said. “We’ve got a lot of talent, and the boys apply themselves well so I think next year is going to be exciting. I can’t wait.”
