Vaccine bookings open for ages 12-15

BOOKINGS have now opened for all Tasmanian children aged 12 to 15 to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Currently, 12 to 15-year-olds with underlying medical conditions, National Disability Insurance Scheme participants or Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders are eligible for vaccination.

The updated eligibility for that age group starts on September 13.

Tasmanian vaccination emergency operations centre commander Dale Webster said young people booking into a clinic should attend on the day with their parent or guardian.

Mr Webster said they were encouraged to have a conversation and complete their consent form together on the day. Further details about the opening up of additional clinics are due to be announced on Friday.
