A FESTIVAL shaking up the state’s north this week has had its funding secured for another three years as the creative director and executive producer move on to new pastures.

Junction Arts Festival is set to receive $1.35m between 2022 and 2024 through the state’s $21.5m iconic events fund, Hospitality and Events Minister Sarah Courtney has said.

“It is wonderful to see Junction Arts Festival return to Launceston and I encourage everyone to grab their mask, practise Covid-safe behaviour and support this fantastic event over the next three days,” Ms Courtney said.

“(Junction) features theatre, dance and musical acts, and art installations with something for people of all ages.”

She thanked the outgoing creative director Greg Clarke and executive producer Frith Mabin for building up the decade-old festival over the last five years.

The multi-arts festival at Princes Square, Launceston, finishes on Sunday.

Acts include Chase Kudu Joy and Sumner.
