ACTION NEEDED

-

THE recent appeal by Sue Neill-Fraser against her conviction for the murder of Bob Chappell was concluded several months ago.

No decision has yet been handed down by Judges Wood, Pearce and Escourt. This suggests that there remains significant doubt regarding a fair and just outcome of the appeal.

There is no doubt that a finding in favour of a retrial would be strongly reappropriate

sisted by both police and the judiciary, including the original trial judge himself, Chief Justice Alan Blow.

Surely Attorney-General Elise Archer must now act to reopen the appeal and allow all remaining evidence to be properly considered, so that this matter can be concluded in the best interests of all concerned.
