CAM CHILLING WITH DAD

-

CAMERON Smith has been reunited with his father and plans to spend five weeks fishing with “a few beers” after ending his best season on the PGA Tour with a career-high ranking and a final collect of nearly $800,000.

The only Australian competing at the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta, Smith finished tied for 14th, 14 shots behind winner Patrick Cantlay, who collected the FedEx Cup and $20m.

Cantlay started the 30-man event with a two-shot advantage, courtesy of his win the previous week, and powered away from the field to collect the biggest prize purse in golf.

Smith faded across the weekend but, with more than $8.5m in prize money this season, he is preparing to relax.

“My old man has come over from Australia, so lots of fishing and lots of sitting down and a few beers in there as well,” Smith said.
