MAN FIGHTS CHILD ABUSE MATERIAL CHARGES

A COLLINSVAL­E man facing federal child abuse material charges has indicated he will fight the allegation­s in the Supreme Court of Tasmania.

Colin James Lightfoot, 61, faced the Hobart Magistrate­s Court on Tuesday, where he pleaded not guilty to charges including five counts of using a carriage service for child abuse material, possessing or controllin­g child abuse material obtained or accessed using a carriage service, and one count of possessing a bestiality product.

Mr Lightfoot, who is on bail, will appear in the Supreme Court on November 15.

He was charged in February after an investigat­ion by the Tasmanian Joint AntiChild Exploitati­on Team, including Australian Federal Police and Tasmania Police.
