DOUBTS REMAIN
WHILE I understand the Police Association’s concern about the reputation of its members, as member and Treasurer of the Sue Neill Fraser Supporters Group I’d like to assure Colin Riley that our members and the many others who support an inquiry into the case generally have the greatest respect for the police force as a whole.
It’s true Sue’s case has had extensive coverage lately, it’s just a shame it didn’t have that intensity of investigation back in 2010 a year after Bob Chappell disappeared, and well after Sue had been arrested when new information came to light.
That was the time, before her trial, when greater investigation and a really fresh look at the evidence was needed.
It was back then that reasonable doubt about an alternate perpetrator could have and should have been thoroughly considered.
If it had, we would not still be campaigning today. Things missed or covered up often inevitably come out later but it’s such a shame that through all this Sue is still in jail, now her 13th year locked up.
