We must learn to live with Covid
I BELIEVE that two expat Tasmanians namely highly regarded Singapore-based Professor Dale Fisher and London-based Paramedic Cathryn Jones are correct in their views that “Learning to live with coronavirus” (Sunday Tasmanian August 22) is very real. Living with the influenza virus has been so much a way of life for generations and a very similar scenario presents with coronavirus.
Given the massive impact on the Australian economy and society in general with border closures compared with the way Singapore and other countries such as Iceland have handled the pandemic to date with high vaccination levels Professor Fisher certainly presents many reasons as to how Australia could transit out of lockdown sooner than later.
