DON’T SUPPORT TALIBAN

AS the dust settles in Afghanistan and the Taliban announce their interim government, those of us interested in international politics, wonder whether this country will be another failed state, as is the case with Iraq.

Both countries were invaded by coalition forces, democratic government fostered and subsequently failed, due to religious and tribal disputes. Human rights, access to education for all, rule of law are now replaced by Sharia law.

Ever mindful of our obligation to those fleeing and seeking asylum as refugees, I find it extremely difficult to support UN attempts to assist in any way, this terrorist run regime, now wishing to gain its place on the international stage.
