CONTACT TRACING APP’S NEW FEATURES

-

USERS of Tasmania’s key contact tracing app will now be able to enjoy a range of new features, including the ability to check in without having access to the internet.

The upgrades also include a new function enabling people to check in to frequent locations without needing to scan the QR code.

Users can also access the use of their phone’s flashlight when scanning a QR code, which was expected to be helpful in rideshare vehicles and taxis at night.

Meanwhile, there will now also be an option for people to hide their personal details so they cannot be seen when holding up a phone to scan a code.

The updates also mean the app will now be able to be used when visiting venues in the Northern Territory, ACT and Queensland.

Users were asked to check for updates on the Apple or Google app stores and download the latest version of the app.
