SPRING INTO CARNIVAL

Australia’s No.1 racing team unveiled for biggest time of year

-

SPRING is well and truly in the air and Australia’s biggest and best racing and sports wagering newsroom has the carnival covered.

Today, News Corp Australia launches its spring racing carnival coverage across all printed mastheads and their websites, as well as Racenet, punters.com.au and Sportsman.

In addition to the 22-member newsroom, News Corp has signed up exclusive columnists, including Australia’s No.1 jockey James McDonald, trainer Annabel Neasham (trainer of Cox Plate favourite and Australian racing’s next big thing Zaaki), media personality and former jockey Katelyn Mallyon and well respected Sky Racing form analyst David Gately.

Readers will get access to content produced by the newsroom, which includes 31year racing journalist Ray Thomas and one of the best racing newsbreakers and opinion writers in the business, Ben Dorries.

News Corp’s national racing and sports wagering editor Matt Williams said its coverage of the spring carnival would be better than ever.

“While it remains uncertain about crowds during the Sydney and Melbourne spring carnivals, it won’t impact on the content we will deliver,” he said.

“Our team will bring you all the latest racing news, analysis and information first on our websites, as well as providing strong opinions you won’t get anywhere else.”

Williams said racing was a sport that moved quickly and the newsroom’s carnival content would reflect that.

“We know millions of Australians love a punt and the spring carnival is when things go to a whole new level, especially for races like The Everest, Caulfield Cup, Cox

Plate and Melbourne Cup,” he said. “With our broad range of digital and print assets, we cater for all types of punters right up from once a year punters to those who take it more seriously and bet to make money.”

Williams said the punters.com.au team recently joined the national racing newsroom to make it the most powerful racing and wagring newsroom in the business.

“The punters.com.au team already have a huge following and complement our existing audience of millions across News Corp Australia mastheads and Racenet,” he said.

“Our digital audiences demand racing news as it happens and that’s what we will deliver.” High-profile regular weekly columnists Richard Callander and Bruce Clark will write exclusively for Racenet throughout the spring carnival.
