Arts focus in Taroona upgrade

A MULTIMILLI­ON-DOLLAR redevelopm­ent of a prominent greater Hobart school has been unveiled, providing new music and drama facilities and other upgrades.

The $5.6m refurbishm­ent of Taroona High School would further enhance the school’s reputation for excellence in the arts, Education Minister Sarah Courtney said.

“The new music facilities have been designed to enhance collaborat­ion and creativity in learning design, with the renovated general learning areas providing a high quality, contempora­ry and flexible environmen­t for learners,” she said.

The redevelopm­ent was designed by Tasmanian business Tim Penny Architectu­re and Interiors, and built by Vos Constructi­on and Joinery.
