LINDISFARNE is determined to get its “swagger” back against the Huonville Lions and are confident a neutral venue for the SFL preliminary final plays perfectly into its hands.

For the third time in four weeks the Lions and Two Blues will lock horns with the ultimate prize on the line — a spot in next weekend’s grand final against Cygnet.

The two clubs squared off in the final round of the roster season, where the Lions triumphed on its home turf to earn hosting rights for the qualifying final.

Seven days later the Lions repeated the dose but Two Blues midfielder Sam Adams said his side has regained some confidence after bouncing back to the winners list against Dodges Ferry last weekend.

And with the preliminary final to unfold at North Hobart Oval — where Lindisfarne defeated the Lions in the 2018 and 19 deciders — Adams believes the club can turn the tables.

“We’ve been pretty atrocious playing them the last two weeks that we’ve played them,” Adams said.

“They’ve been at their best footy though so credit to them, but we just need to go back to worrying about what we do best and worrying about our football.

“That’s the biggest focus, we worried too much about different players and the way they move the ball, and we sort of went away from what we were doing.

“Last week we decided to just worry about what we do, we said at the club we had to get a bit of a swagger back about us and go back to playing our better football.

“We definitely owe them from last year as well, they knocked us out of the prelim down there so there’ll be obviously a bit of fire in the belly after that.

“We’re pretty happy to be back on North Hobart Oval, we’ve obviously played them a couple of times in the last three years here, I reckon they’d be having a few nightmares over that.”

A big part of Huonville’s ability to get the wood over Lindisfarne in their meetings this year has been electric first halves.

In both round 18 and the qualifying final the Lions had skipped five goals clear at thehalf, and defender Alex Vincent is hoping for a similar tale.

“I think that’s been one of our strengths last few weeks, the way we’ve been starting,” he said.
