Man, 34, dies at mountain bike park

A 34-YEAR-OLD man from the state’s South has died after suffering a medical episode on the Meehan Range at Mornington on Sunday morning, police say.

There are no details about the circumstances of the man’s death at the Clarence Mountain Bike Park.

Police are contacting the man’s next of kin and will prepare a report for the coroner.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the man,” a police spokesman said.

“The man died as a result of a medical episode.

“Police will prepare a report for the coroner, who will determine the cause of death. For privacy reasons, police won’t be releasing details in relation to the man’s family or friends.”

The Meehan Ranges contain a complex network of tracks and trails heading up over the ranges, which make a great playground for beginners through to advanced riders.
