- LAURA PLACELLA AND BRIANNA TRAVERS

SEVEN children aged under 10 and one adult were packed on a four-seater buggy when it rolled on a Victorian farm at the weekend, claiming the life of a six-year-old girl.

Two kids were flown to the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne from the Rosedale farm, but the six-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries on Saturday night. A four-yearold girl remains in hospital in a stable condition receiving treatment for a serious head injury. Five other children were assessed by paramedics at the scene for scratches and bruises, while the 32-year-old male driver was taken to Latrobe Regional Hospital with an arm injury.

It is understood a wellknown family that runs a local business lives on the acreage.

It is understood two adults and at least two children had joined the family of seven on the property on Saturday for work purposes. Locals said the family rides motorbikes around the property, but the off-road Polaris buggy was a recent purchase. Detective Sergeant Roz Wilson from the Major Collision Investigation Unit said police were investigating why there were so many people on the vehicle.
