Top foods to boost your spirits
CHOCOLATE and fruit are No 1 good mood foods, a new study has found.
Half of the 1000 Australians surveyed by Dietitians Australia said they felt better when they ate certain foods.
After chocolate and fruit, they said ice-cream, nuts, vegies and seafood gave them a mood boost.
“There are many reasons why we feel better after eating certain foods – the pleasure of the taste to nutrients supporting our gut and brain health,” Simone Austin, a spokeswoman for Dietitians Australia, said.
“If you’re after a simple mood-boosting change to your day, make fruit your go-to snack.
Mum of two Rachel Carlyon said her sons Jaxon and Cooper (pictured) loved snacking on anything fresh.
“We make sure they eat a lot of fruit and vegetables every day, and they’re always in better spirits when they’re eating well,” Ms Carlyon said.
