Huon council job probe

AN external review has been launched into the process to appoint a new general manager for the Huon Valley Council following community concern about a possible conflict of interest.

The appointment of Jason Browne to the $250,000 job prompted disquiet after it was revealed that Joanne Inches, the head of the firm hired to help find a new general manager, was in a relationship with Mr Browne.

The council was initially unaware of a conflict of interest.
