THE Kid Laroi was flying high at the 2021 MTV Awards, descending from the rafters with his pop bro Justin Bieber to sing global smash Stay.

“Just opened the VMAS. What the f..k is life,” the 18-year-old Australian pop star posted after his set. Wearing black leather with big sunglasses and a silver cross, Laroi proved a natural on the red carpet of his first ever awards ceremony, posing with influencer girlfriend Kat Deme.

The Without You star narrowly missed out on the Best New Artist trophy, with Olivia Rodrigo fans winning the Twitter voting competition.

Just hours later, the First Nations artist whose name comes from the Kamilaroi people of his mother’s family, announced his End of the World global headlining tour, which will arrive on Australian arenas next year.

Laroi, who grew up in Sydney, said he was excited to represent Australia on the world stage and looked forward to finally return home to connect with fans after being stuck in the US because of border closures.
