Festival a burst of flavours
A NEW festival in the state’s North next month is promising a big two weeks of events for food lovers.
The NORTH festival kicks off on October 13 and will feature a range of ticketed and free events across 16 different locations.
The event is a collaboration between Cityprom and Eat It Tassie, and aims to show off the best of the area’s producers and hospitality venues.
Cityprom executive officer Amanda McEvoy said it promised to be an exciting festival.
“We have mystery bar tours, a progressive dinner across multiple venues, meetthe-producer sessions, and everything from oysters to high teas and chicken wings,” she said.
Venues taking part include Earthy Eats and Alchemy, as well as Stelo at Pierre’s, Feast Restaurant and Bar, and Firestorm.
Ms McEvoy said the festival highlighted the amazing food and drink culture of the region.
“The festival further secures Launceston’s reputation as a food and wine destination, in line with the bid to become a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy.”
NORTH festival will run from October 13 through to October 26. Tickets are on sale from Wednesday.
