NO BATHURST FOR GRACIE

- JAMES PHELPS

FORMER Supercars driver Renee Gracie will not be returning to Mount Panorama, with race officials adamant the adult actor will not be granted a Bathurst 1000 wildcard.

Revealing her dream to return to the sport she abandoned to become a porn star, Gracie claimed she could land a top-10 finish at Bathurst if allowed back into the sport. But it will not be happening.

While refusing to publicly comment on what they call the “Gracie Circus”, Supercars officials have no intention to grant the former Dunlop Super2 Series star a wildcard entry.

In fact, they do not even expect her to apply.

“It’s just a publicity stunt,” an official said.

“She is just using the sport to sell more videos.”

Gracie said she could become the event’s greatest drawcard and would put life back into a sport that had become “boring”.

The former Harvey Norman driver said she planned to buy her own team and earn a wildcard.

“I think it is completely possible,” Gracie said.

“I don’t think anyone in Australia would be able to generate the interest that I would attract.”
