State waits for its peak

-

CHIEF health officer Brett Sutton has warned Victorians the state’s latest outbreak hasn’t peaked yet.

Victoria recorded 423 new locally acquired Covid-19 infections on Wednesday as the virus spreads rapidly through the north and western suburbs.

It’s the fourth straight day Victoria has recorded more than 400 new cases as the outbreak continues to worsen, with Ballarat plunged into a snap seven-day lockdown. “The risk of it getting to 1000 is real,” Professor Sutton said.

The state also had two new deaths.
