Once again, the TAC, led by Michael Mansell is calling for Tasmanian Aboriginal descendants to be given seats in the Tasmanian parliament. About 4.6 per cent of people in Tasmania claim Aboriginal descent. To allocate that small a group would amount to over representation at the very least. If Tasmanian Aboriginal descendants want to become politicians, the way is open for them to nominate for election the same as other Tasmanians. Ian Beadle
