Festival of racing on Mount

-

IT’S being billed as the biggest motorsport event in Australian history and, in a best-case scenario, a coming-out-oflockdown party for the people of NSW.

The Bathurst 1000 has been expanded from a four-day to a six-day extravaganza, starting on Tuesday, November 30, with more racing, categories and action than any time in the history of racing around Mount Panorama.

While Sunday, December 2, will culminate with the Bathurst 1000 and the finale to the Supercars championship, there will be 10 categories racing over the six days, with organisers to work closely with the NSW government to ensure a Covid-safe event that can attract as many spectators trackside as possible.

The event will include races involving the Repco Supercars championship, Dunlop Super 2 series, Porsche Carrera Cup, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, TCR Australia, Touring Car Masters, S5000, GT World Challenge Australia, V8 SuperUtes and Trans Am.

“It’s been a tough year for motorsport fans but we’re confident this is the recipe for the best possible end to the 2021 season,” Supercars chief executive Sean Seamer said.
