CA board backs chair
CRICKET Australia’s board has ignored the demands of its two most successful cricket states and endorsed Earl Eddings for an extraordinary second term as chairman.
Eddings has, however, agreed to find a successor by the end of the summer and will let that person take over the role at an undetermined time during his next three-year term.
Eddings’ bid for reappointment has divided cricket in Australia, with four states supporting him but two calling for change. The signal of intent to step down could be seen as a compromise offering to NSW and Queensland.
